Tourism Minister Jim Mather MSP, formally opened Landmark Press Carrbridge premises on Tuesday 6th July and paid tribute to the company, which has thrived despite the current economic climate.

The company has doubled the size of its premises in order to accommodate an upturn in business over recent years. The extra space has enabled an increase in leaflet distribution activities, and the addition of a wire binding service to its already extensive portfolio.

Landmark Press is now the largest provider of information for visitors in Scotland. It publishes the most widely read visitor guides including bedroom folders in 17 local editions, 2.5 million Welcome to Edinburgh and Scotland guides in six languages, and a School Visits folder.

Mr Mather, said: "Tourism is vital to Scotland, contributing £4 billion to the economy, efforts made by companies like Landmark Press are integral to this success. Without the excellent range of tourist information leaflets produced by Landmark Press, many of our wonderful attractions could be missed. I am delighted to celebrate a fantastic Scottish success story."

Landmark Press also owns and operates Scotland’s best holiday website www.WelcometoScotland.com; the UK’s only holiday website fully translated into French and German.

Sheila Adam, Manager Landmark Press, said: “We continue to work hard, and are introducing a new bedroom folder edition plus a new Youth Groups website for the coming year. Our new ‘Where to Stay in Scotland’ guide featuring visitor accommodation throughout Scotland, has been well received by visitors. “
Fergus Ewing, SNP member for Inverness East, Nairn and Lochaber said: “I am absolutely delighted to see Landmark Press going from strength to strength. Their contribution to the Tourism Industry in Scotland is immense and the calibre and quality of the publications produced is a credit to all of the staff.
Landmark Press is proud to count among its customers many of the largest most iconic names in Scottish Tourism as well as some of the smallest local businesses.
